It can be helpful for those with skin disorders, like eczema. It helps alleviate the flakiness, and dryness that comes along with eczema. However, more research is needed in this area.
- Improves Cognitive Health
Taking Vitamin E supplements regularly and maintaining the optimal level may prove beneficial and protect against cognitive decline. However, it cannot be suggested to be taken as the only supplement for any cognitive disorder like Alzheimer’s disease.
- Good for Older Adults
As the body ages, the diet becomes poor, and it gets difficult for elderly people to get all the required nutrients from food. Thus, taking Vitamin E as an oral supplement could prove beneficiary for their health because it improves the functioning of the immune system and reduces inflammation.
- Could manage Dysmenorrhea
Dysmenorrhea is a condition in which an individual suffers from extreme and frequent pain, cramps and pelvic pain during menstruation. Studies have suggested that females with this condition could take Vitamin E supplements which will reduce the pain. Additionally, a 2021 study showed that supplementing daily for eight weeks, with a combination of vitamin E and vitamin C, helped reduce the severity of pelvic pain, and dysmenorrhea in women with endometriosis.
- Reduces Skin Itching
Vitamin E cannot treat the issues that cause skin itching like infections or allergic reactions. However, it moisturizes skin and can bring temporary relief to the skin and prevent symptoms of itchiness.
- Psoriasis
Studies have shown that vitamin E can help in the reduction of psoriasis symptoms. On the other hand, it isn’t better or heals quicker than other prescription remedies. It could be a good option for people with mild symptoms.
- Promotes Nail Health
Research has suggested that the benefits of Vitamin E include nail health. Taking supplements of Vitamin E can prevent yellow nail syndrome that causes yellowing, cracking and peeling of nails. It moisturizes the cracked cuticles and dry skin around the nail bed.
