Signs of Kidney Disease

Make an Appointment

The kidneys are two fist-sized organs located near the bottom of the rib cage. On each side of the spine, there is one kidney.

Kidneys are necessary for a healthy body. They primarily filter waste products, excess water, and other contaminants from the bloodstream. A vast number of people are affected by kidney disease. It occurs when your kidneys get damaged and are unable to operate properly. Diabetes, hypertension, and a range of other chronic (long-term) disorders can all cause harm to the kidneys. Kidney disease can result in brittle bones, neurological damage, and starvation, among other issues.

Signs of Kidney Disease

  • Trouble falling asleep – You are having difficulty sleeping. Toxins linger in the circulation rather than exiting the body through urine when the kidneys are not filtering adequately. This can make sleeping difficult. Obesity has also been linked to chronic kidney disease, and sleep apnea is more common in chronic kidney disease patients than in the general population.
  • Frequent Urination – If you’re urinating more frequently, especially at night, it could be an indication of renal illness. When the kidney filters are compromised, the urge to urinate can increase. In men, this can potentially indicate a urinary infection or an enlarged prostate.
  • Blood in Urine – When kidneys filter wastes from the blood to create urine, they usually keep the blood cells in the body. However, if the kidney filters are impaired, blood cells might “leak” into the urine. Blood in the urine can indicate renal disease, tumours,

    kidney stones

, or infection, in addition to kidney disease.

  • Fatigue – Toxins and pollutants can build up in the blood if kidney function is severely impaired. This might make people fatigued and weak, making it difficult to concentrate. Anaemia, which can induce weakness and weariness, is another effect of kidney illness.
  • Foamy Urine – Excessive bubbles in the urine, particularly those that require multiple flushes to disappear, suggest protein in the urine. This foam may mirror the foam you see when scrambling eggs since the common protein found in urine, albumin, is the same protein found in eggs.
  • Puffy Eyes – Protein in the urine is a warning sign that the kidney filters have been compromised, allowing the protein to flow into the urine. Your kidneys may be leaking a lot of protein into your urine instead of retaining it, creating puffiness around your eyes.
  • Muscle Cramping – Impaired renal function can lead to electrolyte abnormalities. Low calcium levels and phosphorus control, for example, may contribute to muscle cramps.

If you experience any of these signs of kidney disease, then visit a doctor as soon as possible. You can also get in touch with the highly professional staff at Sujata Birla Hospital for medical assistance.
